Dingle Bay Rovers News

Written by  Lorcan

Our under 17’s team continued their good run at home against Asdee Rovers, winning a great victory 5-3.  This was a great fight back, as they were slow to get started and were in fact 2-0 down at half-time.  They got their act together though in the second half, and with the help of a hatrick by our top scorer Gareth Hickey-Brosnan and one each from Matthew Flaherty and Captain, Colm Begley they ran out the worthy winners in the end.
Team:

Luke Wallace, Fiach Lynch, Cathal Sheehy, Gearoid Mac Gearailt, Tomás Sheehy, Ciarán Mac Gearailt; Mark O’Connor, Patrick Sheehy, Sean Garvey, Gareth Hickey-Brosnan, Christopher O’Brien,  Colm Begley, Matthew Flaherty, Brian O’Bheaglaoi, Cian De Staic, Seamus Flaherty, Cathal O’Shea

Our youth’s team had no luck against Tralee Dynamo’s, losing 3-2 in the end.  They were 1-0 down just a few minutes into the game, but came out fighting in the second half and deservedly drew level with a goal from Aidan Fitzgerald.  Things got even better with a great goal from Colm Begley to put them 2-1 in front, however Tralee got 2 goal within two minutes and even though Dingle Bay Rovers thought hard Tralee held on to the end to take the points.  It was a good performance from this young side, under the management of James Barrett and Brian Scanlon.
Team:
Luke Wallace, Robert Barrett, colm Hurley, Alan Kennedy, Liam Boland, Peter Garvey, David O’connor, colm Begley, Gareth Hickey-Brosnan, Aidan Fitzgerald, Christopher O’Brien, Gearoid Mac Gearailt, Andrew Flannery and Fiach Lynch.
