2012 Wavesailing Championship

The Irish leg of the Annual 4 Nations Windsurf Tour takes place in Brandon Bay from May 14th-18th. Windsurfers from Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales will battle it out to claim the title. Local School-Bus Driver Rob Jones and Hat-Maker Niall Mellon of Kathleen McCaullffe fame will represent Castlegregory in the contest. Competition will run each day at the most suitable beach for the conditions. Come check out the action

Wednesday 16th: Traditional irish music-Spillanes
Thursday 17th: Seven Hogs €10 buffet and video footage and chill out from 8pm.
Friday 18th: 60's & 70's disco and prizegiving at Spillanes

Arts Centre in Old Dingle Hospital?
Written by LorcanAn ad hoc working group is forming to investigate the feasibility of developing a performing and visual arts centre at the site of the old Dingle Hospital. A blog/forum has been established to facilitate this discussion.
Interested parties are invited to follow and join the blog.

A Little bit of Slovenia in Dingle
Written by LorcanOn Friday 25th May at 1pm, O’ Sullivan’s Courthouse Pub in Dingle will play host to a unique cross cultural event. Bianca Popovich has organised a presentation on Slovenia to coincide with the official launch of the Dingle Language School. The event will be attended by the Slovenian Consul, Jasna Gersak. Music will be provided by “Noreia”, a 4 piece band from Slovenia who play traditional Irish music. The band have played all around Europe but this is their first time in Ireland. To add to the occasion eight Irish dancers from Slovenia will also perform on the day. There will also be a barbeque.
All welcome.
Noreia will also play the Courthouse at 9pm on Wednesday 23rd.

Written by LorcanFollowing publication of the CPO for the N86 between Camp and Dingle, a number of submissions, observations and objections have been received.
As a result of this, An Bord Pleanala will be holding an Oral Hearing into the project. The Oral Hearing will take place in the Dingle Skellig Hotel, starting at 10am on Tuesday, May 15th.
The Oral Hearing will be chaired by a member of An Bord Pleanala, who will hear from interested parties who have made a submission, in relation to the project.
