The sun may have set on the Oscars for another year, but at Scrogall TV young film makers of the future have been busy creating their own masterpieces. A group of work experience students from Castlegregory and Milltown Secondary Schools recently spent a week with us learning about all facets of film-making from script to screen. Sinead, Jamie and Adina became camera operators, sound technicians, scriptwriters, directors and actors, producing “Deception”, a comedy/mystery with a twist. In this short film, workers at a TV station are caught up in one person’s murderous rampage. The unlucky station is not Scrogall TV, despite the resemblance! The film is awaiting its final edit and will be available soon.
Another week saw another group of young people coming in to Scrogall for our film making workshop for teenagers. Conor, Liam and Patrick spent their mid-term break transforming an initial idea into their own action film, picking up all the necessary technical skills, from storyboarding to editing, along the way. “Oblivious” is a short film full of special effects and exciting fight scenes, following the adventures of a mysterious teleporting hero. Or is he an anti-hero? Have a look at the finished film at http://scrogalltv.wordpress.com and decide for yourself.
