350 of the country's leading designers, manufacturers and craftspeople will exhibit under one roof from the 22nd to the 25th January next. Among the exhibitors will be two West Kerry craftsmen whose unique work has won praise from near and far.
Garry Marcham runs the Goose Island Workshop in Inchaloughra, Castlegregory and has been creating high quality bespoke furniture for a number of years. A registered member of the Crafts Councils of Ireland Garry uses the same methods that local carpenters used over 200 years ago. He will exhibit some of the Windsor stools and chairs in which he specialises.
Lawless furniture will also showcase some of their pieces. Based in Ballyferriter, The Lawless family have been making furniture for over 60 years and all of their pieces are unique, using Ash, Spalted Beech, Walnut, Sycamore and more to craft their distinctive creations.
Original Kerry has organised a mini-bus to Showcase departing Tralee on Monday 23rd January, a one day return trip for any craft professional who is interested in participating. Cost €50, book a place by calling Deirdre Johnston, Co-ordinator Original Kerry on 086 8524222. The group will also meet members of the Celtic Buyers Association who import Irish crafted goods into a diverse range of North American Irish gift shops. One not to be missed!
