West Kerry Projects Get Green Light

At the February monthly meeting of Kerry County Council, on Monday, February 20th, 2012, approval was given by the elected members for the following projects.
Water Treatment Plant, associated site works and an access road in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh, Trá Lí for Baile an Fheirtéaraigh Village Water Supply Scheme.
Approval was also granted
The construction of a Water Treatment Plant, associated site works and an access road in the townland of Cathair Deargáin Thuaidh, Baile na nGall, Trá Lí for Cill Maoilchéadar Water Supply Scheme.
The construction of a roadway to serve Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne Teo lands and Kerry County Council lands at Baile an Fheirtéaraigh, Co. Kerry.
Dykegate Street Traffic Calming Measures Approved
The February Council meeting also saw the elected members approve the installation of traffic calming measures at Dykegate Street, Daingean Uí Chúis.
These include the installation of a round-top ramp along with revised road markings at Dykegate Street.
Senior Engineer with the Roads, Transportation & Safety Department, Ger MacNamara explained that the proposed works would greatly improve safety at this junction.
