Local band “Walking On Cars” continue to grow in stature with the news this week that Red Bull have been to Garfinny to record a live session with the group.
Red Bull invited bands from all over the country to upload a video, with the most popular getting on to their “buzz chart” where fans could rate them. Every two weeks the top rated band get to play a live show from their bedroom which is recorded by Red Bull for broadcast on their website (http://www.redbullbedroomjam.ie) and on YouTube the following week.
In total 6 lucky bands
get voted through to the recording stage and Walking On Cars emerged with plenty of breathing space as the second act through.
Walking on Cars are a five piece made up of the combined and considerable talents of Patrick Sheehy, Sorcha Durham, Paul Flannery, Evan Hadnett and Tom Kavanagh. Playing acoustic rock and classical piano with a polished pop sound, the band have played support to The Coronas, O Emperor, Donal Dineen, and Whipping Boy in recent times and are soon set to take centre stage themselves as well as having a debut album in the pipeline.
Their musical credentials are further enhanced by the fact that three band members also fall in behind the banner of the Quay Wren.
With the Red Bull Bedroom Jam now recorded and available for viewing from March 20th, the band now take their place on the Red Bull Festival Chart with the 5 other fortnightly winners and 4 wildcard entries chosen by a panel of judges. The top 3 rated bands will get to play on the Irish summer festival circuit.
Best of luck.
