improved its position in the competition since we re-entered it in 2010. We got 245 points in the 2011 competition up from 238 in 2010.The Community Council Tidy towns volunteers led by Denis O’ Mahony
have done tremendous work since early in the year in preparation for this years judging. The group would like to appeal to residents to do whatever they can to help over the next few weeks by ensuring that lawns are cut and hanging baskets etc are put in place.

Seniors All roads led to J'P O'Sullivan Park Killorglin on Saturday evening last as Milltown/Castlemaine tackled County Semi-Finalists from lastyear East Kerry and prevailed on the tightest of margins with a 0-11 to 0-10 victory over East Kerry in a real thriller of a match which ebbed and flowed and was right in the balance up until the very final whistle by Kerins O'Rahillys referee Paul Hayes. Milltown/Castlemaine had the opening point of the game from Cathal Moriarty and further first half scores from Shane Murphy(3), Donal Kelliher(2) and another point from a Cathal Moriarty free had Milltown/Castlemaine leading 0-07 to 0-05 at half time with East Kerry's first half scores coming from Jeff O'Donoghue(2),Cormac Cronin(1) and 1 each for Derry Ahern and Mike Stam O'Donoghue. The 2nd half was a real tense affair and East Kerry drew level on 2 occasions with 2nd half scores for East Kerry coming from Mike Stam O'Donoghue(2), Jeff O'Donoghue(2) and Jack Sherwood(1) while Milltown/Castlemaine's scores came from Colm Kerins(2),Paul Carroll(1) and Derek Twiss(1) to win out in the end 0-11 to 0-10 in a real battle.
